Job Title: Horticulture Farm Managers

The primary role of a horticulture farm manager is to oversee the daily operations of a farm, ensuring that crops are grown and harvested efficiently and effectively. This involves implementing production strategies, managing staff, and maintaining equipment.

In this position, you will be responsible for defining and implementing production plans, monitoring crop growth and quality, and overseeing the acquisition and installation of new plant and equipment. You will also be required to direct research into new techniques and varieties of produce, recommending and implementing initiatives as needed.

* Manage the overall direction and strategy of the farm's horticulture operations;
* Develop and implement production plans and schedules to ensure efficient use of resources;
* Monitor and control costs associated with crop production, including labor, equipment, and materials;
* Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment and infrastructure;
* Recruit, train, and supervise staff to ensure effective management of the farm's horticulture operations;
* Collaborate with other departments, such as agronomy and supply chain, to optimize crop yields and minimize waste;
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in horticulture and apply this knowledge to improve farm operations.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in horticulture or a related field;

A Certificate III or IV level qualification in agriculture or a related field;

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;

Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Additional Requirements:

Unrestricted Class C Drivers Licence; Chemical User Certificate Accreditation; Forklift license; HC license; Cultural adaptability and a willingness to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.


Benefits:

This role offers a competitive salary of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, plus benefits including health insurance and paid time off.

The schedule is an 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, with some weekend and night work required. The ideal candidate will be available to work on-site at our Virginia location in South Australia.

Work authorization is preferred for Australian residents, but we welcome applicants from other countries who have relevant work visas or sponsorship arrangements in place.
