Associate Legal Officer
Clerk Grade: 5/6
Annual Salary Range: $99,938 - $110,271 per annum plus superannuation
Work Type: Temporary (12 months), Full-time
Location: Darlinghurst (weekly office attendance is required)
About the Role:
The NSW Personal Injury Commission is looking for an Associate Legal Officer to join the Member Support team.
The Associate Legal Officer plays a key role in providing legal and operational support to the Division Heads, Members and Mediators to enable them to be highly effective in their appointed divisions.
About Us
The Personal Injury Commission (Commission) resolves disputes between people injured in motor accidents and workplaces in NSW, insurers and employers.
The Commission is an independent statutory tribunal within the New South Wales justice system, committed to providing a transparent and independent dispute resolution service.
Resolving disputes justly and efficiently in the shortest time frame is a priority for the Commission. We work with all parties (injured persons, insurers, and employers, where relevant) to discuss ways of achieving this.
The Commission exercises functions in three divisions – the Motor Accidents Division, the Workers Compensation Division and the Police Officer Support Scheme. You can read more about the PIC here.

In this Role you will:
* Provide a range of legal functions, including decision making and participation in project or policy work, to support the efficient operation of Legal services
* Act as point of contact with key customers and stakeholders by responding to enquiries, providing information and advice in an effective and responsive manner to meet business needs
* Provide general administrative support to optimise efficiency and support the delivery of quality outcomes for the Member Support Team.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
* A Bachelor of Laws with a current practicing certificate, or eligibility to obtain one
* Strong legislative knowledge
* Ability to handle competing priorities with conflicting and critical deadlines
* High quality administrative support services
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
