Cure Composites is now looking for an experienced and talented Naval Architect to join their team.
The right candidate will be responsible for:
- Prepare, modify, and interpret detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and schematics for custom composite marine vessels and components using advanced CAD software;
- Work closely with engineers, shipwrights, and production teams to ensure designs are accurate, practical, and aligned with both structural and functional requirements;
- Develop layout and fabrication drawings for cabinetry, structural panels, and integrated systems, tailored to composite and hybrid construction methods;
- Review and update design documentation in response to production feedback, maintaining compliance with marine engineering standards and regulatory requirements;
- Assist in calculating material requirements, producing detailed cut lists, nesting layouts, and assembly instructions for composite and timber-based structures;
- Prepare visual, technical, and specification documents to support procurement, manufacturing, and client approvals;
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of cabinetry, structural, plumbing, and electrical systems within vessel designs;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting practices, ensuring precision, clarity, and adherence to Cure Composites’ quality standards;
- Conduct occasional site inspections to verify design implementation, collect dimensional data, and support as-built documentation;
- Maintain version control, archives, and accurate records of all design files, drawing sets, and technical updates;
About you:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Naval architect;
- Strong command of 2D/3D computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, or equivalent drafting software.
- Ability to read, interpret, and translate engineering specifications, technical drawings, and schematics with a high degree of accuracy.
- Demonstrated experience preparing detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for marine cabinetry, composite structures, and structural panels.
- Skilled in adapting designs to real-world production and installation constraints, ensuring practical, buildable, and efficient solutions.
- Robust focus on precision and accuracy in all design outputs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
