About the role
A national law firm is seeking a Solicitor (2 years+ PQE) to join its established insurance practice in Canberra. This role offers meaningful client exposure, complex advisory work and the chance to build a long‑term career within a high‑performing team.
You’ll work across a varied portfolio of insurance matters, including litigated and advisory work. The position has a strong focus on common law and statutory compensation claims, with opportunities to expand into areas such as public liability, regulatory matters, medical negligence and general insurance disputes.
The role suits someone who enjoys balancing technical analysis with practical problem‑solving and who is looking for genuine mentorship and progression.
Key responsibilities
* Managing and assisting with litigated insurance matters
* Providing strategic advice on liability, coverage and claim resolution
* Working closely with senior lawyers and partners on complex files
* Engaging directly with clients and external stakeholders
* Preparing written advice, reports and court documents
* Appearing in courts and tribunals where required
