We provide high-quality processed meat products to restaurants, butcher shops, and supermarkets across Western Australia. Our operations integrate cold storage, processing, packaging, and in-house logistics, all under strict HACCP food safety standards.
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Supply and Distribution Manager to oversee and optimize our end-to-end logistics and distribution operations. This position is critical to ensuring our products are delivered efficiently, safely, and on time while maintaining compliance with food handling and cold chain standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive supply chain strategies to support the wholesale distribution of fresh and frozen meat products to restaurants, supermarkets, and butcher shops across Western Australia.
Oversee the end-to-end logistics operations, including procurement coordination, cold storage management, and refrigerated transport scheduling to ensure product quality and timely delivery.
Manage inbound and outbound stock movement, including customs clearance (if applicable), delivery timetables, and coordination with domestic suppliers and logistics partners.
Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels based on seasonal demands, customer purchasing trends, and production forecasts, ensuring minimal waste and maximum freshness.
Prepare and analyse logistics performance reports, including transport costs, order accuracy, delivery lead time, and customer satisfaction, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Lead and supervise the logistics and warehouse team, assigning daily tasks, providing training on safe food handling and transport, and ensuring compliance with cold chain protocols and WHS standards.
Maintain strict compliance with Australian food safety regulations, including temperature control, HACCP procedures, and storage documentation for audit readiness.
Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, cold storage facilities, and packaging suppliers, ensuring cost-efficiency and service reliability.
Review and control distribution budgets, cost forecasting, and financial allocations to support profitability and resource optimisation.
Work closely with internal departments such as Sales, Procurement, and Production to align logistics with business growth strategies and customer service requirements.
Continuously identify and implement process improvements, including warehouse layout optimisation, route planning, and digital inventory tracking systems.
Skills and Experience Required:
Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in supply chain, distribution, or logistics management, preferably within the meat processing or food wholesale industry in Australia.
Possession of a relevant Australian bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Commerce, or a closely related discipline.
Solid understanding and practical knowledge of HACCP principles and other applicable food safety and cold chain compliance standards.
Proven ability to coordinate refrigerated transport and manage cold storage logistics to ensure timely and quality-controlled distribution of perishable goods.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to supervise teams, resolve issues efficiently, and collaborate with stakeholders across departments and external vendors.
Proficiency in using inventory management systems (e.g., DEAR, Fishbowl, or similar) and advanced user of the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel and Outlook).
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced and time-sensitive operational environment.
Willingness and commitment to undertake a full-time position for a minimum of three years, contributing to the long-term growth of the company's supply and distribution operations.
