About the Role
This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team in a health centre setting to address the diverse mental health needs of military members.
* Initial intake and assessment with flexibility to accommodate presenting needs will be undertaken.
* Psychometrics and engagement in treatment that capitalises on skills, interests and scope of practice will be utilised.
A high level of autonomy will be provided to manage caseloads, including oversight and case management of externally referred cases and the provision of internal treatment to Defence members.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Crisis presentations risk assessment and risk management planning will be supported within a multi-disciplinary team.
Requirements
* The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour are expected.
* Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency is required.
* Minimum 2 years post graduate experience in the last 5 years in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments and delivering evidence based Focused Psychological Strategies is necessary.
* Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development activities in accordance with AHPRA is expected.
* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification is required.
* Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and procedures and national standards governing mental health practice is desirable. Knowledge of the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy is also desirable.
