Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Admin/Systems Engineer to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for providing technical troubleshooting and resolution to all computer hardware and software issues while maintaining a positive, professional, customer‐service mindset. You will also learn the ropes of a complex, full‐stack environment, working closely with senior technical staff (Windows, Linux, VMWare, SQL, Storage) to support and maintain critical IT infrastructure. This position is based in our Melbourne office and primarily supports Australian and New Zealand users onsite, with additional remote support for other JAPAC users.
Your Impact
* Support & Maintenance: Perform IT & AV product and service procurement, routine repairs, maintenance, and upgrades to existing systems in accordance with standard operating procedures.
* Guided Execution: Receive detailed instructions on day‐to‐day maintenance and troubleshooting tasks and work on project tasks under the guidance of senior IT & AV engineers.
* Policy Application: Apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine technical issues.
* Operational Assistance: Provide first‐line IT & AV support and troubleshooting for routine infrastructure issues, applying standard runbooks and escalation paths to quickly restore service, while documenting symptoms, actions taken, and outcomes with our IT ticketing systems.
* Learning Automation: Work under supervision to understand and execute existing scripts to increase operational efficiency.
Qualifications
* Professional Foundation: Professional degree (BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent) with 2–3 years or 5–10 years of relevant professional experience.
* Conceptual Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of Microsoft Technologies, macOS, basic networking, and virtualization concepts.
* Hands‐on Admin Experience: Recent hands‐on technical support experience with Windows 11, macOS, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Active Directory, system imaging, VPN, network connectivity (802.11x), PC & Apple hardware, and mobile devices.
* Hands‐on Event/AV Support Experience: Recent experience with video conference room device maintenance such as Zoom and onsite/remote hybrid event support.
* Aptitude for Learning: Strong desire to learn Windows/Intune, macOS/Jamf, VMWare ESX, cloud environments (AWS/Azure), video conferencing systems, and automation tools.
* AI Curiosity: Interest in using AI tools responsibly to accelerate learning, speed up troubleshooting, and generate playbooks.
* Soft Skills: Passion, drive, energy, and a great attitude. Comfortable following established practices while developing professional skill sets.
