Senior Physiotherapist – Medicine (Lyell McEwin Hospital)
Salary: $108,347 - $116,216 per annum, plus Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice benefits – AHP3 Temporary Full-Time, until 21 February.
As a Senior Physiotherapist leading the physiotherapy team within the Medicine department, you will deliver high-quality, patientcentred care across acute medical wards in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on clinical care to medical patients with complex clinical needs, optimising functional outcomes and supporting safe discharge planning.
Lead and mentor rotational staff, including supervising, training, and mentoring students and allied health professionals.
Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and policy review.
Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and engage with patients, families, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Registered Physiotherapist with a degree in Physiotherapy and registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
Extensive experience in acute medicine and surgical physiotherapy, including assessment, treatment planning, and discharge coordination.
Leadership skills: ability to supervise staff, mentor students, and contribute to service development and policy review.
Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
Adaptability and problem-solving skills in a dynamic hospital environment.
Commitment to quality and continuous improvement principles.
Desirable Qualifications
Postgraduate qualifications in physiotherapy or a related field.
Experience in research or quality improvement projects.
