Job Overview
The Mine Geologist plays a pivotal role in ensuring efficient mineral resource extraction at our Rosebery Underground Operation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct daily grade control duties to minimize dilution and maximize economic resource recovery.
* Monitor and control ore quality during mining operations to meet production targets.
* Implement grade control programs and provide recommendations for improved ore recovery.
* Ensure effective processes are utilized and maintained for ongoing reconciliation.
* Capture data through photogrammetry and mapping for interpretation and incorporation into resource and structural models.
* Collaborate with mine planners and engineers to optimize ore extraction and minimize dilution.
* Assist with logging of diamond drillholes.
* Support the Senior Mine Geologist in other duties as required.
* Supervise and mentor team members and contractors.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science (Hons) or higher in Geoscience.
* Minimum 2+ years of experience in mine geology.
* Exposure to VHMS or base metal deposits, with a strong understanding of complex base metal mineral systems.
* Skilled in 3D Modeling, database management, and QAQC protocols.
* Extensive management of drilling programs.
* Underground grade control best practices and geological methodologies.
* Planning, implementation, and management of grade control duties.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
* Proficient multi-tasking and rescheduling capabilities.
* A proven history with safe work practices.
