The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented professional who can lead as part of a friendly, dedicated and supportive Administrative team.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Principal to establish and be responsible for the financial, physical and human resource processes of the school.
The role involves overseeing business operations and collaborating with staff, the community and the administration team, with a focus on positive communication with Department of Education representatives, parents, teachers, education assistants, P&C, outside businesses and community groups.
You should be reliable and flexible with excellent conceptual and analytical skills.
The role requires fostering effective human resource management practices, strategic oversight and management of buildings, facilities and assets.
As day-to-day responsibility includes school finances, a strong financial management background is advantageous.
School Context
Port Hedland Primary School is a welcoming and supportive school located near the beach with an enrolment of about 490 students.
The school emphasises community involvement, cross-school interaction and parental engagement and has an active School Board and P&C.
Location and Community
Port Hedland is a coastal town in the Pilbara, offering access to the Indian Ocean, desert landscapes and regional attractions.
The area provides opportunities for outdoor activities and exploring local culture and nature.
Eligibility
Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
