Join a locally-owned manufacturing business as a Cost Accountant based in the Southern Sunshine Coast, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring financial excellence and project success. This role involves budgeting, risk assessment, progress reporting, and seamless coordination with stakeholders, all while ensuring adherence to budgets, deadlines, and regulatory compliance.
Your new role
* Establish and monitor project budgets, including reporting, forecasting, and preparing accruals.
* Track expenditures and prevent cost overruns while recommending corrective actions for variances.
* Conduct regular reviews of actual costs against approved budgets.
* Analyse progress and manage performance trends, providing timely insights into project management.
* Create detailed reports and dashboards to update stakeholders on project status.
* Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all project activities and participate in team meetings to share key updates.
* Ensure full compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards in all project activities.
* Assist with tasks in the general finance function
What you'll need to succeed
* 5+ years of experience in a Cost Accountant or similar role.
* Experience within the manufacturing or a project-based industry
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred).
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies and budget analysis
