GV Health is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Occupational Therapist (Grade 3) to take a pivotal clinical leadership role within the Rural Allied Health Team (RAHT) based in Shepparton. This is more than a clinical role—you will function as a senior member of the interdisciplinary team, providing expert community OT services while driving service development, quality initiatives, and staff supervision. You will work within progressive re-ablement frameworks ( ASM, CHSP, HACC PYP ) and across funding streams including NDIS and Home Care Packages. Key Leadership & Clinical Responsibilities As the Senior OT (Grade 3), you will be responsible for both high-level clinical practice and service governance: Clinical Expertise & Caseload: Provide comprehensive OT services (assessments, equipment, modifications, ADL retraining, pressure care) to clients with complex presentations in home and group settings across three municipalities. Staff Supervision: Undertake staff supervision (students, junior OTs, Allied Health Assistants) in line with GV Health's competency and delegation frameworks. Service Development: Lead the planning, review, and implementation of service development and quality initiatives to enhance OT service delivery within the RAHT model. Program Alignment: Ensure services align with current aged and disability sector reforms (e.g., Support at Home, NDIS) and meet all CHSP/HACC PYP funding requirements. Stakeholder Liaison: Provide advice and guidance to community organizations and participate in high-level organisational and regional meetings. Key Selection Criteria Formal Qualifications & Registration (Essential) Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent. Current, unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist. Essential Leadership & Clinical Experience Extensive Experience: A minimum of 7 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, including substantial time in community-based positions. Service Model Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated experience working within re-ablement (ASM/CHSP) and episodic care models. Supervision: Proven experience in the supervision and mentoring of professional students, clinical staff, and Allied Health Assistants. Governance: Experience in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of OT services, with demonstrated application of evidence-based practice and quality improvement frameworks. Complexity Management: Expertise in delivering services to consumers with complex conditions, disabilities, and diverse backgrounds.
