Team Leader School Based Education Salary: Location: East Fremantle Closing Details: Work Type: Permanent - Full Time Drive Change, Connect Communities The Maritime directorate in the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) holds responsibility for promoting the safe and sustainable use of Western Australia's navigable waters through education and compliance under the Western Australian Marine Act **** and the Navigable Waters Regulations ****.
A core component of this mandate is delivered through the Maritime Education Unit, which provides a comprehensive suite of school-based education programs at the Marine Education Boatshed (MEB).
The Opportunity We are seeking a dynamic leader to provide strategic direction for school-based maritime safety education, driving safe and high-quality programme delivery that shapes the next generation of skippers.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and implementation of marine safety programmes at the Marine Education Boatshed, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with legislative and training requirements.
You will oversee a high-demand facility serving over 12,500 students annually, fostering a strong safety culture and maintaining the Department's reputation for quality and compliance.
Your leadership will be essential to sustaining programme outcomes and supporting Western Australia's commitment to safe and sustainable waterways.
There is 1 permanent position available for filling.
The successful applicant or applicants assessed as suitable through this process may receive further offers of employment (fixed term or permanent) in this or similar roles for a period of twelve (12) months from date of first appointment.
