Salary Range: CSERV 6 (1,423.20 + 14% Superannuation + allowances)

Work type: Permanent Full-time. 9 day fortnight (7am-4pm)

Location: Different locations in Brisbane (North, South, West)

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Arboriculture Climbing Officer to join our team and help maintain the health, safety and sustainability of Council's tree assets.

In this hands‐on role, you'll carry out specialist tree‐climbing and arboriculture work, using ropes, harnesses and other technical equipment to complete pruning, maintenance and removals safely and to a high standard.

You'll play a key role in responding to tree‐related issues across the community while modelling a strong customer‐focused approach in every interaction.

Working closely with your Team Leader, you'll contribute to a high‐performing and safety‐driven team culture by giving and receiving regular feedback, helping coordinate staff training and sharing your expertise in specialist climbing techniques.

You'll also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, operating and maintaining equipment correctly, displaying appropriate safety warnings on site and applying chemicals safely in line with guidelines and WHS requirements.

To be successful you will have:
* proven ability to work as part of a team, contribute to direction, exchange feedback and meet agreed performance standards to support a culture of excellence
* at least three years' experience in arboriculture practices
* strong skills in operating arboriculture machinery and tools
* demonstrated competency in branch walking and tree‐canopy work using ropes, harnesses and other specialised climbing equipment
* solid verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to complete paperwork accurately and engage with customers confidently and professionally
* ability to obtain a Medium Rigid (MR) licence within three months of starting the role
* possession of a White Card
* Certificate III in Arboriculture would be highly regarded
* a current Intermediate Tree Felling Certificate will be viewed favourably
* possession of a Doggers qualification will be considered beneficial.
