Overview
The Staff Specialist - Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality mental health care within the limits of the specified clinical privileges and, in accordance with Mental Health Services principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the occupant will:
* Act as a consultant to mental health professionals and health service providers including general practitioners and other agencies regarding the assessment and management of individuals requiring mental health care.
* Undertake supervisory responsibilities with Paediatric Psychiatric Registrars and other medical staff as required/ appropriate
You will need:
* Extensive experience and skills in child and adolescent psychiatry, in a range of practice settings.
* Demonstrated commitment to a multidisciplinary service model with the ability to deal effectively with interpersonal issues.
* Demonstrated ability to convey psychiatric knowledge effectively to fellow staff, service providers and patients/clients.
* Psychiatric interests in areas relevant to this position, including research experience and publications.
* Understanding of the National and State Mental Health policy frameworks as they impact on the provision of clinical services.

Details of appointment
Fixed term part time day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 30 June 2028.

Salary and benefits
Specialist Medical Practitioners
Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3: $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging
Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $300,216 - $310,389 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award. Salary range is in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.

In addition, the following allowances and benefits, calculated on the salaried incremental point, may be available:
* Salary packaging options include a range of benefits like living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment every year
* Motor vehicle allowance of $28,786 per annum, pro rata
* Subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of base salary plus on-call (pro rata) of additional payment will be paid from PPS. If not admitted to PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.
* Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,974 per annum, pro rata
* A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support
* Fitness Passport – access to 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $14.50 per week per person, or $28.05 for a family
* Other allowances as applicable
