Build and Lead a New Employment Law Practice within a Leading Personal Injury Firm

Wyatts Lawyers is a well-established personal injury law firm with a strong reputation for delivering outstanding results for our clients. We are now looking for a talented and driven Employment Lawyer to join our team in Sydney on a full-time basis and help us build out this new practice area.
Who we are looking for
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer who is eager to take ownership, shape a new practice, and work alongside a supportive team of senior lawyers. You will be advising individuals on a wide range of employment matters, bringing your expertise into a firm that already advocates fiercely for the rights of injured workers and everyday Australians.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in employment law and a passion for providing practical, solutions-focused advice. You will be confident in handling matters independently while also collaborating with our wider team to deliver a seamless service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide legal advice and representation on a broad range of employment law issues, including unfair dismissal, general protection claims, adverse action, workplace investigations, discrimination, and contract review and disputes.
• Support clients in navigating the Fair Work Act and other regulatory frameworks.
• Work closely with personal injury lawyers to identify and service crossover employment law issues for existing clients.
• Build and grow the employment law practice within the firm, including developing new strategic partnership and new client relationships.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and tribunal/court proceedings as required.
Key Requirements
• Minimum 3+ years' PQE with a strong focus on employment and industrial relations law.
• In-depth knowledge of the Fair Work Act, enterprise agreements, and employment frameworks.
• Experience handling complex workplace matters, including disputes, grievances, and investigations.
• Strong advocacy skills and ability to represent clients in high-stakes matters.
• Proven ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues, and to grow a practice area.
• A proactive, client-focused approach with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
