The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join a leading national group in the essential services sector. Based in Gold Coast, this role offers the chance to take ownership of the end-to-end accounts receivable function following a recent acquisition. You'll be part of a supportive, family-oriented environment of around 200 employees, working closely with the Finance Manager and Accounts Payable Officer to drive structure and efficiency across financial processes. This hands-on role suits someone resilient, detail-oriented, and confident managing large B2B clients in the construction industry. Free parking included.
The Challenge
As an Accounts Receivable Officer, you will manage a high-value debtors' ledger and lead collections in a challenging, fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include:
* Sending invoices and statements, and proactively contacting large construction clients to confirm payments before balances become overdue.
* Posting and allocating daily receipts with accuracy in MYOB AccountRight and Uptick.
* Investigating and resolving complex queries related to non-payment of invoices.
* Conducting account reconciliations and liaising with internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues.
* Preparing receivable forecasts and working to strict monthly and annual collection targets.
* Responding promptly to customer and internal enquiries with a professional, resilient approach.
* Identifying and implementing process improvements to strengthen workflows and address inefficiencies.
* Maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Assisting the Accounts Payable team during peak periods or leave cover.
The Expertise
We are seeking a candidate who brings:
* Minimum 3–5 years' experience in an end-to-end accounts receivable role with direct B2B customer contact, ideally in construction or a large company environment.
* Proven ability to manage collections with large, complex clients via phone.
* Proficiency in MYOB AccountRight (experience with Uptick highly regarded).
* Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
* Resilient communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle robust client interactions.
* Flexibility to support Accounts Payable when required.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
