* Librarian Grade 2 - $103,089 to 116,969 plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
About the role
These temporary roles in the Published Materials - Print Team and Original Material - Manuscript Team offer an excellent opportunity for the successful candidates to apply their extensive specialised knowledge and expertise on aspects of collection description according to relevant formats standards and contribute to the development of efficient and effective workflows and procedures. The roles provide provide expert advice, guidance and training for less experienced professionals in the arrangement, description, preservation and provision of access to a wide range of original and published material in hard copy and born digital format. The Specialist Librarian responds to complex inquiries; presents information on all aspects of collection description initiatives to Library staff, professional groups and visitors; and manages relationships with other internal stakeholders and researchers.
About you
To succeed in these roles, you will have qualifications acceptable for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and / or Australian Society of Archivist (ASA), or other combination of qualifications and experience deemed by the State Librarian to be equivalent that meets the minimum standard of skill and knowledge inherent in the ALIA standard. You will also have substantial experience in managing the description of original or published materials, both analogue and digital, in a library environment.
