Job Summary:
The role of Marine Operations & Maintenance Coordinator involves supporting the Fleet Manager in overseeing day-to-day operational, maintenance, and engineering tasks for a fleet of vessels. This position combines practical marine experience with strong problem-solving and coordination skills to ensure the fleet operates at the highest level of safety and efficiency.
* Provide hands-on assistance with vessel operations, logistics, and scheduling.
* Monitor and report on vessel readiness, including fuel, stores, and planned maintenance activities.
* Support the coordination of vessel deployment, movements, and turnaround schedules.
* Undertake or coordinate mechanical, electrical, and structural maintenance and repairs across the fleet.
* Support and maintain preventative maintenance programs, ensuring all work meets marine standards and manufacturer specifications.
* Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and inventory control for parts and consumables.
* Liaise with contractors and suppliers for specialised works and procurement.
* Diagnose and resolve issues promptly across mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
* Provide technical support to crew and assist in implementing repairs dockside or in the field.
* Assist with vessel inspections, refits, and surveys as directed.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
* Assist with safety drills, equipment checks, and maintaining compliance documentation.
* Promote and adhere to environmental, health, and safety requirements.
* Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of navigation, communication, and monitoring systems.
* Support upgrades and diagnostics of marine electronics in coordination with service agents and technicians.
* Assist the Fleet Manager with scheduling, reporting, and contractor coordination.
* Contribute to operational planning, performance reporting, and project improvement initiatives.
* Provide hands-on support to other staff as required.
