The Role
We're looking for an experienced Network Engineer to support the configuration, operation, and optimisation of secure network infrastructure within a high-assurance ICT environment. You'll be responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity, network security, and performance across mission-critical systems.
This Canberra-based role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, structured environments where stability and security are non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
* Configure, manage, and troubleshoot routing, switching, firewall, and VPN infrastructure across classified and multi-domain environments.
* Support network segmentation, DNS, IP management, and performance monitoring.
* Ensure compliance with ISM controls and other security requirements through secure network design and implementation.
* Collaborate with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to maintain availability and integrity of services.
* Maintain accurate network documentation, change records, and technical diagrams.
* Assist with incident response, fault isolation, and remediation efforts across network layers.
* Participate in testing, review, and validation of network configurations during system deployments and upgrades.
What You'll Need
* Demonstrated experience as a network engineer supporting enterprise or secure environments.
* Strong knowledge of routing/switching protocols, firewall configuration, and VPN setup.
* Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, or Palo Alto platforms highly regarded.
* Understanding of network security principles and implementation of security controls.
* Familiarity with classified ICT environments and structured delivery frameworks.
* Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration skills.
* Australian Citizenship with an active NV1 security clearance.
