About the role
Omexom, a global brand within VINCI Energies, is seeking seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Designer / Technical Officer (Power) to join our team in Wacol, Queensland. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and design services to support the company's power-focused engineering projects.
What you'll be doing
Working within the Omexom Distribution QLD Business Unit, will see you tasked with undertaking end-to-end project design process from conception to the delivery of detailed designs, ensuring the designs meet the technical specifications, compliance standards, project scope, budget, and delivery timeline. The role responsibilities to include:
- Producing technical design concepts, drafting, reviewing, and auditing engineering drawings and technical specifications, ensuring conformities in all aspect inclusive safety, construction, environmental and project requirements.
- Resolving technical issues as they arise and consulting with the project team and management on possible variations.
- Monitor and control design costs with changes to the design in liaison with the project team.
- Undertaking engineering investigations and audits to mitigate any key design risks that may impact on the project budget and/or delivery timeline.
- Contributing to a culture of innovation and best practice in designing and delivering customer focused, fit for purpose solutions.
- Preparing technical reports and documentation.
- Engaging proactively with key stakeholders and providing them with technical advice on construction process related matters
- Contributing to a positive team environment where everyone is valued and supported to perform at their best.
What we're looking for
- Proven ability to work within the Energex/ Ergon, NBN, Essential Energies and/or Telstra design guidelines.
- Solid experience with overhead, underground design, street lighting design, LV drop, poles & wires program, communications pit and pipe design (desirable).
- Strong ability to work effectively as part of a team and autonomously.
- Proven success in building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Well versed in the use of AutoCAD
- Wee versed in the use of Microsoft Office Suite specifically MS Excel.
- Possess a strong work ethic and have exceptional attention to detail.
Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years experience working in a similar role and industry.
- Construction Industry White Card
- Class C Driver's Licence (QLD)
- Electrical Licence or Electrical Engineering tertiary qualification.
