Colliers NT is seeking an experienced and highly organised Business Support Officer to join our friendly and collaborative Commercial Property & Agency team. This role is ideal for someone with strong accounts payable/receivable, administration, and time‑management skills—and an interest in commercial property.
As our Business Support Officer, you will play an integral part in the day‑to‑day operations of a diverse commercial property portfolio. Your contribution is essential to ensuring our team meets its service levels and delivers high‑quality outcomes for landlords, tenants and contractors.
You will support the team across administration, financial processes, reporting and client communication. Property experience is valued but not essential—we are happy to train the right person with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts & Finance Support
* Accounts payable and receivable, including arrears management
* Reconciliation of supplier ledgers and the security bond register
* Managing trust accounts in accordance with relevant legislation
* Mid‑month and end‑of‑month processing
* Generating financial reports including Owner Statements, Budget Reports and comparative year‑on‑year reports
* Assisting with preparing, tracking and updating annual budgets
* Supporting outgoings reconciliations and tenant recovery statements
* General financial administration and rental management services for outsourced portfolios
Property & Administrative Support
* Processing and receipting rental payments; maintaining accurate rent schedules
* Maintaining thorough and accurate records, databases, tenant files and property management systems
* Preparing key documentation including lease renewals, notices, correspondence and compliance reports
* Assisting with onboarding new tenants, file setup and system updates
* Coordinating maintenance requests and liaising with contractors
* Communicating professionally with tenants, landlords and clients
Desirable Skills
* Experience in accounts payable and receivable
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Certificate IV in an accounting‑related field (preferred but not essential)
* Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures
* Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a calm, structured and efficient manner
* Enjoys working collaboratively within a small, supportive team environment
* Proficiency with accounting or property management software (ideally Cirrus or similar), plus strong Excel skills
* Interest in the property or commercial real estate industry (desirable but not essential)
