Staff Software Engineer - .NET/iOS/Android

Overview
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will lead and influence engineering across the team, develop technical roadmaps, and improve the quality of solutions by applying industry best practices. You'll collaborate with technical leaders and product owners, mentor engineers, and be involved in all aspects of delivery from solution design to production rollout.
Responsibilities
* Lead, promote continuous improvement and develop technical roadmaps; improve the quality of technical solutions by implementing industry best practices.
* Collaborate with peers and product owners to document changes and drive initiatives.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers; communicate effectively with squad members.
* Participate in all aspects of delivery from solution design and development to production rollout.
* Contribute to complex delivery planning to align technical deliveries with engineering direction and strategy.
* Distribute source system data via bulk interfaces; design and document solutions.
* Challenge the status quo constructively and influence stakeholders at various levels.
* Work within Bankwest's Customer Trust and Security function to deliver secure, resilient banking experiences; support payment fraud prevention and privacy controls.
* Actively explore AI-driven solutions (including AI/ML, LLMs, and agentic AI) to enhance engineering workflows and product capabilities.
Qualifications and experience
* Full-cycle engineering experience: ideation, technical design, build, testing (unit, integration, system), release, and ongoing maintenance.
* Collaborates with team members and helps grow capabilities within the squad and across the crew.
* Ability to work independently and foster a culture of quality, excellence, and openness.
* Passion for learning new tools and technologies; innovative thinker.
* Designs and implements solutions to distribute source system data via bulk interfaces.
* Experience in delivery planning and governance to ensure alignment with engineering direction and strategy.
* Ability to constructively challenge the status quo while influencing stakeholders.
* Technologies: .NET Core, C#, Angular; Microservices; Restful API; mobile development (Android Kotlin, iOS Swift); security best practices (OWASP); cloud technology stacks (AWS, with certifications); DevSecOps tooling (GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Jira, Snyk, AppDynamics, Confluence, Cucumber, ServiceNow, Copilot); AI/ML and testing frameworks (Appium, Selenium, Playwright) are a plus.
