The Project Support Officer (PMO Lead) will work under broad direction from the Project Director to lead the Project Management Office. The PMO Lead will be responsible for the activities of the PMO and provide guidance and support to those internal and external to the PMO. Ensure the successful implementation of the PMO's strategy, responsibilities, services and deliverables.
The role will require project support skills and a proven ability to work within an integrated team of technical/non-technical personnel.
Commercial Satellite Access (CSA):
DEF799 Phase 1 - Enhanced Commercial Access is an approved Defence Integrated Investment Program (IIP) designed to improve Australia's ability to collect satellite imagery of priority areas through direct access to commercial satellites. The project achieved Final Operating Capability (FOC) in September 2021 and now operates as the Commercial Satellite Access (CSA) directorate within the GCD Branch.
As a PSO in CSA you will be responsible provide project support services to the CSA Directorate. The scope includes, but is not limited to;
- Conduct planning, scheduling and estimating of work/tasks to meet CSA requirements;
- Prepare project documentation and/or assist with the review and clearance processes for project documentation;
- Provide administrative project management assistance to CSA; and
- Stakeholder management, organisational governance and risk management.

The PSO will be responsible for supporting the activities of the PMO and providing guidance and support to those internal and external to the PMO. To accomplish this, they will work to the PMO Lead to ensure the successful implementation of the PMO's strategy, responsibilities, services and deliverables.
The role will require project support skills and a proven ability to work within an integrated team of technical/non-technical personnel.
The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
**ABOUT THE COMPANY**
The Australia Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO) is the lead agency for geospatial data, information and intelligence for Defence and the National Intelligence Community. AGO's purpose is to shape the strategic environment, deter actions against Australian interests, and respond with credible military force when required.
Situated in Canberra, AGO is a small organisation of TSPV cleared workers that is rapidly growing. Exciting projects such as DEF100 and DEF101 are managed by AGO.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead and take responsibility for the PMO including the management of personnel.
- Support the development and then ensure the successful implementation of the PMO's strategy, responsibilities, services and deliverables.
- Manage project reporting, risks and issues to enable effective communication with Senior Management and stakeholders.
- Provide and maintain a capacity planning and resource tracking service across the project
- Ensure maintenance and development of project governance artefacts
- Build cohesion within the team and motivate team to produce quality work.
- Manage team action items to ensure objectives and processes are met.
- Work cohesively with other project team staff in a program setting to support the project deliverables and team objectives.
- Support the Project Director as required.
- Advise the PMO in applicable standards, procedures, methods, tools and techniques.
**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED**
- Knowledge of the Project Management methodologies.
- Personnel management experience leading small to large teams.
- Experience leading a PMO
- Experience within Defence or NIC is highly regarded.
- Australian Citizenship and a TSPV security clearance is essential.
