The team - Commercial, Financial and Infrastructure (CFI) Advisory

Our CFI Team brings together expertise in investment strategy, economics, commercial advisory, procurement, actuarial analysis and acquisition, and restructuring and dispute processes. We deliver enhanced commercial outcomes, optimised financial performance and sustainability and improved infrastructure outcomes through the planning, procurement and delivery of major projects.

Our Infrastructure services span business case and investment appraisal, commercial structuring, procurement and transaction advisory, and robust financial and project finance analytics and decision making support.  We provide commercial rigour, financial discipline and strategic insight, working collaboratively with project teams, executives and stakeholders to enhance project value.

Our expertise covers a range of sectors – including transport, energy, water, housing, health and social services – advising across all phases of the investment lifecycle. We support clients develop and deliver new assets, improve operational outcomes, optimise portfolios and initiate asset sales or disposals.

The Role

Our practice is growing, and we are seeking a Senior Associate with strong financial and commercial acumen, comfortable across multiple sectors, and ready to work collaboratively as part of high performing team to support the design and delivery of the Organisational Financial Optimisation projects.

In this role you will:

* Target Operating Model Design: Design future-state operating models aligned to strategy, covering organisation, processes, governance, and service delivery.
* Financial Optimisation & Value Creation: Identify, quantify, and model cost reduction, productivity, and margin improvement opportunities; build robust business cases.
* Implementation & Benefits Realisation: Develop practical implementation roadmaps, track financial benefits, and support execution of Target Operating Model changes.
* Business Development: Work with our leadership to grow the practice by contributing to business development, proposals and practice initiatives.
* Engage with Stakeholders: Work collaboratively with Federal and State Government stakeholders, contributing to workshops, presentations, and reports.
* Learn and Grow: Work closely with senior colleagues to build your consulting skills, industry knowledge, and professional confidence.

Qualifications

You bring a combination of:

* 2–4 years' experience in management consulting, financial advisory, or transformation roles, with exposure to Target Operating Model design and financial optimisation.
* Strong financial analysis and business case modelling skills, including cost, productivity, and benefits realisation.
* Experience assessing and redesigning operating models, covering organisation, processes, governance, and service delivery.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present clear, executive-ready insights to senior stakeholders.
* Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous, and change-driven environments.
* Business development mindset: capable of contributing to proposals, identifying new opportunities, nurturing client relationships.
* Interest in and capability to coach and develop more junior staff.

* Strong interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skills.
* Ability to produce high-quality, concise and impactful presentations/reports in agreed timeframes.
* A natural inclination for problem solving, a mindset of intellectual curiosity and a desire to deliver superior outcomes and experiences for our clients.
* Professional in style and demeanour/exercises good judgment.
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field,finance, economics, business, commerce, engineering, law, urban planning or equivalent relevant industry experience.
* Motivated and effective in a fast-paced culture.
* Continuous learning mindset. You want to learn from others and you invest in your own learning. You stay informed of key trends, risks, developments and innovations that may impact our clients, our services or our ways of working. You have a passion for being at the forefront of change, driving the development of innovative solutions to complex challenges.
