Social Worker - Senior, HP4, Social Work Department, Hervey Bay Hospital - H2601WB
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Social Work Department, providing specialist services across Maternity and Paediatrics at the Hervey Bay Hospital. In this role, you will deliver high-level clinical social work services to women, infants, children and families, working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support safe, high-quality, family-centred care.
Your Opportunity
* Senior Social Work Clinician responsible for providing high quality, high level Social Work services within the Maternity and Paediatric Departments of the Fraser Coast Health Service. Clinical work undertaken will be of a complex nature and duties will be performed with a high degree of independence.
What we're looking for
* Clinical Expertise – Demonstrated high level of understanding of the health environment in which clinical decisions are made, along with high level knowledge of Social Work practice theories, social legislation and policies, expertise and skill in assessment and intervention, relevant to a maternity and paediatric acute health care context.
* Communication – Demonstrated high level of communication, interpersonal and consultative skills required to work cooperatively and effectively with members of other disciplines and to liaise with relevant community service providers.
* Clinical Ability – Demonstrated ability to assess and respond in a professional manner to complex clinical issues for consumers of the Social Work service in an acute health setting where intervention is primarily crisis oriented.
* Leadership – Demonstrated ability to contribute to, initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement initiatives, and to act as a role model for other staff by promoting professional standards, trust and open communication and self-responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
* Mandatory possession of a recognised degree in Social Work, and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Eligibility is dependent on the candidate having completed a University level Social Work degree accredited by the AASW and that the candidate does not have any other outstanding professional competency or ethical issues or complaints known to the AASW which may preclude membership.
* Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a "certification of eligibility" letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership. Overseas qualified applicants should include such evidence with their application to be considered for short-listing in the selection process.
* Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
* Blue Card : Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act (2000) requires Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.

Our offer : You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $157,360 p.a., comprising salary between $128,169 - $137,918 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f.)
