Citizens of the Reef | Global impact, local action
Citizens of the Reef is scaling one of the world's most ambitious reef conservation movements - and we're looking for a
Head of Conservation
to help lead it.
This senior leadership role is for an experienced marine conservationist ready to turn
world-class science, AI-powered insights, and citizen science at scale
into
real impact on reefs
- from as far and wide as the Great Barrier Reef, Red Sea, Pacific and Coral Triangle. You'll lead our conservation strategy across flagship programs like the
Great Reef Census
and the
Reef Cooperative
, working closely with
local communities, reef managers, scientists, and global partners. You'll help build the partnerships and funding that enable conservation at scale
while also engaging and growing a powerful
virtual volunteer network
. From in-water action to data-driven decision-making, you'll help ensure people and technology sit at the heart of conservation delivery.
You'll also play a senior leadership role within Citizens of the Reef, helping shape organisational priorities as we grow.
We're looking for someone who:
* Has a proven track record in practical implementation of marine conservation, management and restoration
* Believes conservation works best when people - local and global - are empowered
* Is inspired by the opportunity that AI, data, and citizen science deliver to drive massive impact in conservation
* Is as comfortable in the field as they are with partners and funders
If you're driven by impact and protecting reefs for generations to come, we'd love to hear from you
Apply now and help lead conservation that connects people, data, and action.
