This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to provide psychosocial, spiritual, and bereavement support to our residents, their families, and our staff.
Position Summary:
As our Pastoral Carer, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing environment that aligns with the values, policies, and procedures of Lynden Aged Care. Your mission will be to maximise residents' health and well-being, ensuring their rights, privacy, and dignity are respected while fostering an atmosphere of learning and development among staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Residents:
2. Deliver therapeutic support for psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual issues.
3. Assist residents in dealing with impending heath concerns and transitioning into residential aged care.
4. Advocate for the rights, interests, and diverse needs of residents.
5. Relatives/Friends:
6. Provide support and education on palliative care, grief, and loss.
7. Assist families and friends with the transition process into aged care.
8. Offer bereavement support.
9. Staff:
10. Educate and support staff on related topics.
11. Provide therapeutic and bereavement support.
12. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
* Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, theology/clinical pastoral education, or counselling.
* Extensive clinical experience in palliative care, community health, or a related field.
* Proficiency in providing counselling support to diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills.
