About the work unit / facility
The successful applicant will be allocated rotations in acute surgical or medical wards and in a rehabilitation setting. Supervision will be provided to optimise clinical and professional skill development and learning throughout this twelve-month period.
Professional development opportunities are also available to enhance clinical experience. New graduates are additionally supported by the Clinical Education Support Officer who provides support and mentorship during this transitionary period and facilitates a peer group community of practice and peer group learning opportunities. Working in a tertiary teaching hospital with links to James Cook University, you will have access to academic resources and potential research collaborations, further enhancing your professional growth and development.

Salary range: $ to $ p.f. (HP3)
4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy, and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
This position is required to work on weekends on a rostered basis through the Department's Weekend Service.
