About the role:A leading financial services organisation is seeking a Trading Application Support Engineer to support critical middle- and back-office systems used for trade processing, clearing and settlements. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance and availability of business-critical applications operating across on-premise and AWS-hosted environments.
*What's a typical day look like?*
* Provide Level 2 application and trade support for middle- and back-office systems supporting clearing and settlements
* Investigate trade breaks, processing failures and data issues across the trade lifecycle using SQL and application logs
* Perform daily system health checks and monitor application readiness across on-premise and AWS-hosted environments
* Respond to production incidents, carrying out initial diagnosis and resolution, and escalating where required
* Use monitoring and observability tools to track application performance and identify emerging or recurring issues
* Support applications as they operate and migrate within AWS, working with cloud and development teams on issue resolution
* Assist with change, release and operational activities, including documentation and runbook updates
* Participate in on-call or after-hours support as part of a rostered trade support function
*About you:*
* Strong SQL skills and experience investigating data issues, trade breaks, and processing failures
* Familiar with AWS-hosted applications and confident using monitoring and observability tools to maintain system health
* Thrives in a fast-paced production support environment
* Experienced Application Support professional with a focus on middle- and back-office trade, clearing and settlement systems
* Clear communicator with both technical teams and operational stakeholders
* Comfortable participating in an on-call support roster
* Hands-on experience in trade support, clearing, and settlement systems
* Exposure to CI/CD processes from an application deployment or support perspective
* Desirable: experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) or trade messaging protocols
* Desirable: Front office, OMS Trade execution support
