Il Chiosco is now looking for an experienced Barista to join their team.
The right candidate will be responsible for:
1. Crafting a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty coffees, ensuring consistency and quality in every cup.
2. Welcoming customers warmly, taking orders efficiently, and providing knowledgeable recommendations on menu items to enhance the dining experience.
3. Utilizing point-of-sale systems to process orders and payments accurately, and coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
4. Keeping the coffee station and surrounding areas clean and organised, adhering to health and safety guidelines to maintain a hygienic environment.
5. Monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, milk, and other supplies, and communicating with management to reorder as necessary.
6. Working closely with other staff members to ensure smooth operations, especially during peak hours, and assisting in training new employees as needed.
7. Setting up equipment and preparing the café for service at the beginning of the day, and performing closing tasks such as cleaning machines, restocking supplies, and securing the premises at day's end.
About you:
1. At least 1 year of experience as Barista;
2. Confidently use grinders, espresso machines, and milk frothers;
3. Strong skills in creating latte art can enhance presentation;
4. Understanding different roasts, blends, and preparation styles;
5. Comfortable handling cash and using point-of-sale systems for orders and transactions;
6. Strong communication skills;
7. Outstanding customer service skills;
