Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist
The Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist role ensures the ongoing functionality and reliability of infrastructure supporting observing equipment and facilities across remote and urban sites. Key focus areas include maintenance & support of power systems, building management systems, air conditioning units, facility upkeep, general IT and electrical infrastructure.
Apart from day-to-day maintenance, this role contributes to planning and execution of infrastructure projects. This includes assisting with upgrades and modifications, contributing to standardised infrastructure solutions, identifying opportunities for efficiency, reliability, and sustainability improvements, contributing to Equipment Safety Reports and Risk Assessment Processes.
Key responsibilities involve working closely with the Infrastructure Network Manager to prioritise tasks, liaising with field staff, contractors, and technical teams, communicating infrastructure requirements and constraints clearly, ensuring solutions align with operational and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a practical approach to problem-solving, experience in remote or field-based environments, familiarity with relevant infrastructure systems, strong organisational and communication skills, ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities, a collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
