About the Role
The Student Learning Support Officer (SLSO) assists and supports the classroom teacher working under their direction. Applications are invited from qualified Student Learning Support Officers with a strong commitment to Christian Education. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, keen to engage and inspire our students enabling them to achieve their God-given potential.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with building an effective learning environment by working with teachers to support a differentiated curriculum that meets varying learning styles.
* Assist students with school routines and classroom activities.
* Assist with the implementation of the student individual plans to support their engagement in learning activities.
* Provide individualised or small group instruction.
* Note: the classroom teachers are responsible for the education, control and behaviour management of the students.
Selection Criteria
The ideal candidate will:
* Have an active Christian faith with regular involvement in a local church, and a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of WCCS, including the Statement of Faith.
* Hold a Certificate III in Education Support (or be actively working towards this qualification) or currently completing a teaching degree or qualified teacher.
* Hold a Working With Children Check (or be willing to obtain).
* Display high-level written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team.
* Previous experience as a SLSO in a Christian School is desirable.
