Key responsibilities
* Provide short term counselling and support for clients who have been assessed to be at moderate to high risk of suicide, who have attempted suicide or display self-harming behaviours.
* Develop detailed safety plans in collaboration with clients following appropriate risk assessments.
* Perform initial intake assessment/program triage function as required.
* Assist with facilitation or co-facilitation of group programs as required.
* Be able to respond to active clients who may be in crisis situations.
Key selection criteria
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Nursing.
* Full registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with AHPRA OR RN with significant mental health experience.
* Demonstrated experience working with clients with mental health & psychosocial conditions including those at risk of suicide.
* Highly developed knowledge & skills in assessment and counselling.
