Senior Practitioner Position

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Practitioner to join our team in Mount Isa, with outreach to Normanton and Cloncurry.


About the Role

The program suite comprises two service streams for young people and families. The RAIFSS Program is a secondary family support service aimed at reducing harm or risk of harm working with families to stabilise and maintain family wellness. The NYS supports young people who are at risk of disconnection from their family and community in the Normanton region.


Main Responsibilities

* Participate in program planning and review activities to ensure efficient, effective, and appropriate service provision.
* Manage and review program processes, work instructions, and ensure team members are working within these frameworks.
* Complete casework to a high standard, including fostering capacity in others through regular review of cases and completion of progress reports as required.
* Coaching, mentoring, and motivating team members to achieve program goals, including assisting with induction of new staff and supporting staff in case discussions.


Key Qualifications and Skills

* Possession of a relevant degree in social work or psychology and a minimum of three years' experience working therapeutically with children and young people who have experienced trauma.
* Demonstrated understanding and experience working within theoretical and therapeutic approaches relevant to the work of both RAIFSS and NYS.
* Highly developed communication skills for working with culturally diverse clientele and a broad-based network of service providers.
