About The Organisation The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About The Role We are looking for an experienced event professional to join our team. This role is responsible for facilitating the permitting of externally produced events on Council managed land. You will provide assessment, advice and approval for external event applications and some internal events. The role will focus on a cross section of outdoor events, trader activations, community events, markets and promotions. This is a full time temporary 5-month opportunity through until 30 January 2026 Duties Provide advice, approval and compliance for permitted events.Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Work effectively in a dynamic team environment. Skills And Experience The ability to self-manage workloads, communicate clearly and work effectively in a dynamic team environment. Demonstrated understanding and experience in providing advice on the delivery and permitting of outdoor events. Experience in assessing the risks and impacts of outdoor eventsLocal government experience essential, minimum of 3 years preferredThe role includes weekend work and flexibility around hours.
