We're building aircraft that fly faster, further, and to space. Hypersonix is an Australian aerospace engineering and advanced manufacturing company building hydrogen‐powered scramjet aircraft. We work at the bleeding edge of hypersonic technology, delivering aircraft that fly faster, reach further, and open new pathways to space – and we're a small, highly capable team doing work that genuinely matters.
Opportunity
We are looking for a Material Handler to play an important role in DART vehicle production, responsible for the receiving, inspection, storage, and issue of materials and components. You will have strong attention to detail and an eye for quality, ensuring that incoming goods are accurately checked and documented. This is a unique opportunity to provide hands‐on support to our production team and gain significant experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities
* Receiving incoming goods, verifying against purchase orders and packing slips, and recording receipt in the Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system.
* Using hand measurement tools, such as vernier calipers and micrometers, to perform basic dimensional inspection of incoming parts, verifying conformance to drawings.
* Ensuring incoming goods are accompanied by correct and accurate quality documentation, such as certificates of conformance and test reports.
* Flagging non‐conforming goods and supporting the development of Non‐Conformance Reports (NCRs), in coordination with Quality and Supply Chain.
* Kitting Bills of Materials (BOM) components and materials for assembly workstations, as per work order requirements.
* Ensuring stores and warehouse areas are kept clean, organised, and in auditable condition.
* Managing inventory locations and stock levels within the MRP system and supporting periodic stock takes and cycle counts.
* Working closely with Supply Chain to coordinate on inbound delivery schedules to reduce any receiving discrepancies.
* Adhering to all shop floor processes for safety, cleanliness, and foreign object debris (FOD) prevention.
You'll Thrive Here If You
* Own problems end to end without waiting for a complete picture.
* Hold technical rigour and program pace simultaneously – without sacrificing either.
* Lead by bringing people with you, not by working around them.
* Stay solutions‐focused when the ground shifts.
What You'll Bring
* A Certificate II or III in a relevant field (e.g., Warehousing, Logistics, Manufacturing Technology) or equivalent hands‐on experience in a stores, warehouse, or production support role.
* At least 1 year of experience in a warehouse, stores, or goods‐receiving environment.
* Strong attention to detail, particularly for checking quantities, part numbers, and documentation.
* Comfortable working with digital systems for inventory and receiving.
* Reliability, organisational skills, and the ability to work methodically through routine tasks.
* The ability to obtain any applicable security clearance or background checks.
* Legal right to live and work in Australia.
Bonus Points For
* Experience using basic measurement tools, such as vernier calipers and micrometers.
* Knowledge of MRP/ERP or warehouse management systems.
* Prior experience working in aerospace or defence manufacturing environments.
Our Benefits Include
* Competitive salary
* Equity participation
* Flexible working – we care about output, not hours
* A team doing genuinely world‐class work
* Real ownership and influence from day one
* Funded Professional development
* Confidential Employee Assistance Program
