 
        
        The Festival Coordinator will work on allocated Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras (SGLMG) festival events. Two positions are available, with the successful applicants working on the iconic Parade or Fair Day along with other events. This is a temporary contract until Friday 13 March 2026.
This role is predominantly an administrative role within the Festival and Events team. The Festival Coordinator will provide direct support to the Festival Producers and Head of Festival. This support will come in the form of administration, accreditation, hospitality requirements, finance such as accounts payable/receivable, data entry and monitoring several festival e-mail addresses.
The Festival Coordinator will be allocated to a signature event working alongside a Producer and Associate Producer and will provide on-ground support at a number of events.
The Festival Coordinator will liaise with community groups, key stakeholder groups, venue partners, arts & cultural organisations and government agencies as a representative of SGLMG. 
Key role objectives:
· Assist in delivering world class events across a multi-platform event strategy
· Liaise with and maintain key stakeholder relationships including Government Agencies, Venues and Partners
· Maintain and champion the organisation core values and adhere to the organisation ethics charter
· Maintain and process accurate financial records
· Provide administrative support to the Festival and Events Team
· Assist in reporting to the Producers and Executive
· Play an active role in the smooth running of all events on the SGLMG calendar
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
· Previous arts administration experience
· Previous experience working with the LGBTQIA+ and First Nations community
· Proven track record in dealing with competing priorities and the ability to work autonomously
· Ability to work in a team setting with a diverse team
· Superior and proven communications skills both written and verbal
· Basic Project coordination skills
· Proven experience in reporting and basic accounts payable / receivable
· Intermediate to advanced excel skills
· Proven track record in liaising with artists and production companies
· Intermediate contract management skills
Desirable:
· Appropriate education in Event Management or similar field
· Event experience
· Ticketing experience
· Festival Database experience (Schedules, Supplier/Artist Portals)
· Basic Work Health and Safety knowledge
