The Education and Research Unit is the engine room for learning and improvement, delivering nursing and midwifery education, growing professional practice, and driving clinical improvement so best practice care isn't just the goal, it's the standard. The unit is led by the Nursing Director (Education and Research), who keeps the learning wheels turning.
The team is a powerhouse of expertise, bringing together Nurse Educators, Midwifery Educators, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Clinical Placement Coordinators, Clinical Facilitators, Student Facilitators, Librarians, and the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) service, all reporting to the Nursing Director of Education and Research.
Nurse Educators based in Gladstone, Emerald, Aged Care and Mental Health stay closely connected through strong professional links with the Education and Research Unit, ensuring learning is shared, consistent, and always evolving.
About the role:
The Graduate Clinical Facilitator is the go-to guide for CQHHS graduate Nurses, part coach, part mentor, part cheer squad. Working across the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS), they help new grads build confidence, sharpen skills, and find their feet in real clinical settings.
Through hands-on teaching, face-to-face support, and close collaboration with clinical units and teams, the Graduate Clinical Facilitator helps create a positive, curious, and supportive learning culture. They lead by example too, modelling high-quality, evidence-based practice at a proficient level while inspiring graduates to do the same.
About you:
The successful applicant will hold a tertiary degree qualification such as Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and successful completion of the preceptor program.
Well-developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills including presentation skills.
Proven ability to develop and use information, evaluations and reports appropriate to the position.
Ability to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with students, graduates, team members, patients, and education providers, including participation in relevant networks.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $108,685 p.a. is comprised of:
An hourly rate between $56.08 - $60.05 p.h.
12.75% employer superannuation contribution
