The team is led by two experienced and highly regarded Joint Heads of Class Actions and assisted by a dedicated team of Practice Leaders, Special Counsels, Senior Associates and other legal professionals.The OpportunityDue to upcoming matters, this is a newly-created opportunity as a Special Counsel to work on a range of class actions including but not limited to employment law and financial services class actions.You might be a Special Counsel who has experience contributing to the success of running class actions, or for an experienced Senior Associate seeking to step up into a Special Counsel position in our Sydney team. Whether you’ve come from defendant or plaintiff practice, you will have the opportunity to take a leading role on prominent cases, including contributing to case strategy, expert evidence and investigations into new class actions.With mentorship from a team of highly experienced class actions practitioners, you will have an ideal balance of autonomy and guidance. With compassion, connection and purpose, you’ll truly champion our clients by:Managing the conduct of multiple class actions, using case plans and effectively delegating and overseeing the supporting legal team.Providing strategic advice and updates to Shine’s partnered litigation funders on budgeting of individual and portfolio matters.Developing and maintaining strong relationships with our clients, providing regular and effective communication whilst managing expectations.Contributing to the origination and development of new class action opportunities.What you’ll bring.To thrive in this role, you will have:Significant experience as a solicitor practising across complex commercial litigation.Desire to lead high performing legal teams.Strong legal analytical skills, research skills, and attention to detail.Ability to work with and manage large volumes of complex documents and reports.A commitment to truly connect with those around you and work together to deliver exceptional results for our clients.The passion, motivation and enthusiasm to contribute to our culture and ensure it’s a place where everyone can thrive.Shine Lawyers: A place for you.
