Our marketing team is growing! We have been tasked with amplifying our storytelling of unforgettable experiences on the Gold Coast.
In pursuit of our mission, Experience Gold Coast is looking for a Social Media Specialist – Events to lead social media strategies across our major events and festivals including Groundwater Country Music Festival, Blues on Broadbeach, Cooly Rocks On, and BLEACH*. This role plays a crucial part in turning audience inspiration into attendance, engagement, ticket sales and bookings.
Responsibilities
What you’ll do
- Define and implement social media strategies that drive attendance, bookings, and revenue for EGC festivals and events.
- Manage and grow online communities, converting audience inspiration into action and participation.
- Create and schedule compelling content across platforms, working with creative teams to deliver engaging, conversion-focused assets.
- Optimise campaigns in real time using customer sentiment and engagement data.
- Monitor and engage with audiences through social listening, feedback, and real-time opportunities.
- Report on performance and provide insights to improve future social media activity.
- Collaborate with internal teams, event promoters, partners, and agencies to align activity with broader marketing goals.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
- 4+ years’ experience in marketing or communications, ideally with a robust social media focus.
- Track record in managing online communities and delivering campaigns that drive measurable results.
- Knowledge of omnichannel marketing, audience funnel management, and eCommerce or ticketing conversion tactics.
- Experience in content planning, social listening, and crisis management.
- Data-led mindset with the ability to translate insights into immediate action.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across multiple stakeholders and teams.
