Are you passionate about creative communication? The Town of Gawler is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Communications Officer to join our Marketing and Communications team.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a communications professional to contribute to high-profile Council projects while supporting the delivery of Council's brand and communication strategy. Reporting to the Team Leader, Marketing and Communications, you will be responsible for promoting Council services, events and facilities, ensuring all communications align with Council values, brand standards and reflect our vibrant and inclusive community.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the delivery of Council's Community Plan 2035 and Corporate Plan
* Assist with the implementation of the Digital Marketing Strategy, including advertising, video's, coordination of social media platforms, and performance reporting
* Create compelling content across multiple platforms including website, e-newsletters, social media and marketing materials
* Plan and deliver photography and video content to enhance storytelling, campaigns and community engagement
* Preparation and distribution of media alerts and releases
* Contribute to the review and development of communication policies and procedures
* Ensure all communications are accurately recorded in line with Council policies

About You

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable communications professional with a proven track record in producing engaging content across a range of platforms, including media releases, websites and social media. You understand the vital role local government plays in fostering strong, engaged and connected communities, and are committed to delivering accurate, accessible and impactful communication.

You will have:

* Tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Media, or a related field
* Minimum of 2 years' experience
* Proven creative and content production skills with experience in producing, and generating content for council's communication channels
* Experience managing successful communication campaigns from conception, production, and application to final reporting
* Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
* Technical proficiency with Meta Business Suite, Ads Manager and Google Analytics
* Current unrestricted Driver's Licence
