Who are we looking for?
An opportunity is available for a Senior Corporate / Commercial Lawyer to commence ASAP. This role will suit an experienced lawyer comfortable operating in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment, with exposure to financial services and complex stakeholder management.
The successful candidate will advise across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including:
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including:
* Procurement and outsourcing arrangements (including IT)
* Distribution agreements
* Consultancy agreements
* Sponsorship agreements and community partnerships
* Reviewing marketing material and other public-facing communications to ensure legal and regulatory compliance
* Providing general corporate advisory support, including:
* Capital transactions
* Directors' duties
* Solvent wind-ups
* Advising on intellectual property matters and competition and consumer protection law issues
To join us, you will:
* Admitted Australian lawyer, operating at a senior level
* Strong corporate / commercial legal background
* Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
* Previous experience in private practice and/or within the financial services industry (highly regarded)
* Sound understanding of corporate law, IP, and competition and consumer protection frameworks
* Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders
* Practical, commercially minded approach to legal advice
