At Sugarland Animal Hospital, we are building a better way of working: a dedicated Medical / Inpatient / Triage team whose sole focus is delivering gold-standard patient care, meaningful case continuity, and strong teamwork — without the pressure of a full consulting load.
This position is designed for experienced vets who want to practice medicine properly, collaborate closely with a skilled nursing team, and genuinely influence patient outcomes.
What This Role Looks Like
* Lead medical case management & inpatient rounds
* Provide triage & stabilisation support without a packed consult schedule
* Perform diagnostic & procedural medicine (cytology, ultrasound aspirates, sampling etc.)
* Work with visiting internal medicine specialists to expand skills and deepen understanding
* Spend time with patients, clients & teams without feeling rushed
* Communicate thoroughly and thoughtfully instead of squeezing updates between appointments
* There may be occasional consults associated with emergency or ongoing cases, but no GP appointment blocks and no pressure to fill rooms every 15 minutes.
