We are currently looking for a full-time Software and Applications Programmer with strong development expertise across the full application lifecycle. Applicants must be willing to work in a hybrid model, including both working-from-home and at customer locations in the Perth metropolitan area, and be authorised to work in Australia.
We are looking for:
* The ability to write and maintain program code to meet system requirements, system designs and technical specifications under quality-assurance standards
* Full-stack software development
* Experience across Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JSF, RichFaces, PrimeFaces, Struts, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS and Angular
* Exposure to Maven and Gradle
* Exposure to software design principles, including microservice approaches, application migration processes, domain and test-driven design, and J2EE design patterns generally
* Use of CI/CD tools such as Git, TeamCity or Jenkins
* Exposure to SQL-based databases
* Significant exposure to cloud-based development, particularly AWS and/or Azure
* Degree-level qualifications in IS, IT or related discipline
* Adherence to best-practice software design and engineering principles to ensure system robustness and efficiency
* Testing, debugging, diagnosing and correcting errors and exceptions to ensure applications perform to specification
* Identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in systems and associated processes
* Provision of software code documentation, along with other inputs to technical documents
* Participation in software code reviews
* Developing continuous improvement and continuous delivery strategies across system design and software development
You will:
* Make a meaningful contribution across the full application development lifecycle, including requirements analysis and definition, stakeholder management, software design and build, test facilitation and operational support
* Develop and maintain business-focused software, build database and operating scripts, complete unit and system testing
* Design system interfaces, and demonstrate high levels of design awareness and system governance requirements
* Take ownership of software documentation during the application lifecycle.
* Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders and provide programming expertise on a range of projects for multiple clients
Your skills and qualifications:
* More than three years of experience as a software and application programmer in systems development projects.
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science.
* Significant knowledge of Git and Java build systems using Maven and Gradle, along with experience developing and deploying applications to J2EE application containers including WebSphere and WebLogic.
* Signification experience in "Lift and Shift" type projects in the J2EE space, including conversion to usage of Spring Framework and Dependency Injection.
