As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Operations Manager to join our leadership team — someone who can work with customers, manage crews and help drive our field operations to the next level.
Position Overview
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day field operations of EWS, working directly with our customers and managing crews in the field. You will ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards. You will liaise with clients, coordinate teams, track progress, manage resources and help foster a positive, safety‑first culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the point of contact for clients: build and maintain strong relationships, understand their requirements and ensure exceptional service delivery.
* Plan, schedule and manage crew resources (field technicians, rigging teams, lines‑maintenance and construction crews).
* Supervise operations across LV and HV powerline works, vegetation management, construction and maintenance activities.
* Ensure all work meets or exceeds safety, quality and compliance standards.
* Monitor project progress, budgets, KPIs and reporting; identify and resolve operational issues proactively.
* Support recruitment, training and mentoring of field crews and subcontractors.
* Promote and embed a safety‑first culture, ensuring all team members adhere to company safety systems and regulations.
* Work cross‑functionally with management to refine processes, improve efficiency and drive business growth.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for a candidate with a strong field‑operations background in electrical/lines work, ideally with a blend of technical experience and management capability. Specifically:
* Qualified Certificate III Linesman credentials — OR experienced NZ Line Mechanic with relevant experience OR qualified Electrician with EWP (elevated work platform) and Work at Heights and Rigging.
* Demonstrated experience in LV/HV overhead powerline maintenance or construction.
* Proven ability to lead field crews, manage operations and engage with clients.
* Strong safety mindset, with knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety systems in the electrical/utility sector.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills; comfortable liaising with clients, crews and senior management.
* Willingness to travel within regional WA (Goldfields, Pilbara, Wheatbelt) and work in a dynamic, remote‑field environment.
* Strong organisational skills, problem‑solving ability and a hands‑on attitude.
What We Offer
* A senior leadership role within a growing, respected power‑utilities services company.
* The opportunity to lead high‑impact projects in challenging and rewarding regional environments.
* A competitive salary package commensurate with experience.
* A culture focused on safety, excellence and teamwork.
* Supportive team environment, and a chance to shape the future of the business.
