Lead a Groundbreaking Cancer Care Initiative
This esteemed role demands a highly skilled professional to oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive cancer care program focused on education, screening, and culturally safe support for First Nations communities in the Northern Territory.
The successful candidate will lead a region-wide approach to cancer initiatives and screening strategies, working closely with key stakeholders including Cancer Council NT, NT Health, and BreastScreen. They will be responsible for integrating care into local clinics and supporting referrals, as well as co-designing culturally appropriate resources and engagement events.
A strong understanding of cancer care or health promotion is essential, alongside experience in First Nations or remote health contexts and at least 3 years' experience in program coordination or clinical leadership. AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement cancer care programs tailored to the needs of First Nations communities.
* Collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance access to cancer services and improve health outcomes.
* Design and deliver culturally sensitive education and awareness campaigns to promote early detection and treatment.
* Liaise with government agencies and healthcare organizations to ensure seamless service delivery.
Bonus Points for:
* Experience in stakeholder training, CQI, or Communicare.
* Knowledge of national screening programs and referral systems.
