Overview
The Work Health and Safety Officer position provides operational support to the Safety & Health team and Brightwater’s services in relation to safety and health data, systems and administration. This position will suit someone with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, creative aptitude and excellent computer skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced and flexible environment. Reporting to the Manager, Work Health & Safety, this role is offered on a full-time fixed term basis.
This position will based out of our lovely Brightwater Central head office in Inglewood but travel to other Brightwater sites across the greater Perth metropolitan region is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support to the Safety & Health team and Brightwater’s services in relation to safety data, systems and administration.
- Assist with data entry, reporting and analysis related to work health and safety.
- Support the management of safety documentation and compliance processes.
- Coordinate activities across sites and liaise with internal stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have
- Relevant tertiary qualification in safety and health, allied health or related discipline (at least Certificate IV).
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of safety and health standards and regulations.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to liaise with diverse people in an informative, positive and customer-focused manner.
- Experience in the use of safety management software (Solv Safety preferred).
- Strong computer skills with sound knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), with the ability to create visual reports.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to input and interpret data accurately and in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure, problem solve, and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and the ability to work unsupervised, as well as the ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
