Project Coordination Specialist
The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the management and coordination of construction projects/programs, including tasks associated with program development, design management, cost planning, tendering, estimating, and contract services.
This position will support the department to work across government, the private sector, and the community to provide well-designed, healthy, and sustainable environments in various sectors.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing construction projects and a strong understanding of project management principles, as well as strong communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
* Coordinate the activities of project staff, external consultants, building contractors, managers, and other business units to achieve project objectives.
* E nsure all projects meet client requirements for scope, time, cost, cash flow, and quality.
* Engage and communicate effectively with individual project team members involved in pre-design, documentation, contract administration, and post-construction services.
* Negotiate with consultants, local authorities, internal stakeholders, clients, and contractors to identify value for money solutions.
* Add value to discussions using experience and professional knowledge.
* Control variances by generating exception reports on time and cost aspects of project management.
* Provide assistance to the Principal Project Manager/Project Director.
