We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a major digital and enterprise transformation program focused on HR and Payroll systems. This role will suit someone who has a strong background in system implementation, business process improvement, and stakeholder engagement within complex, regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
System Implementation & Support
* Support implementation and enhancement of HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM)
* Assist with system configuration, testing, and deployment activities
* Ensure solutions meet business and compliance requirements
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
* Engage with stakeholders to elicit, define, and document functional and non-functional requirements
* Translate business needs into user stories, process maps, and solution requirements
* Support traceability from requirements through to delivery
Process Improvement & Optimisation
* Analyse existing HR and payroll processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and automation opportunities
* Contribute to process redesign and future-state operating models
* Support continuous improvement initiatives
Data Analysis & Reporting
* Develop and support HR and payroll reporting and dashboards
* Analyse workforce data to provide insights on metrics such as turnover, workforce composition, and time tracking
* Support data quality and consistency across systems
Testing & Compliance Support
* Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test case development, and defect managementEnsure payroll and HR processes comply with relevant legislation, policies, and governance standards
* Support audit and compliance activities as required
Stakeholder Engagement & Delivery Support
* Collaborate with senior stakeholders across business, IT, risk, legal, privacy, and transformation teams
* Support delivery planning, dependency mapping, and risk identification
* Contribute to effective communication between technical and non-technical staff
Essential Skills & Experience
* Minimum 3+ years' experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst
* Demonstrated experience supporting HR or Payroll system implementations
* Strong knowledge of HCM/Payroll platforms such as Workday HCM, SAP SuccessFactors (EC/ECP), or Oracle HCM
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and processes
* Proven stakeholder management experience, including engagement with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
* Experience working within large-scale transformation or system integration projects
Highly Regarded
* Experience in government, insurance, health, or disability sectors
* Understanding of data governance, information lifecycle, and retention policies
* Ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed delivery execution
* Formal project or delivery certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or Scrum
